14 ½ x 11 ⅜ inch illustrated poster, printed in black on heavy pale tan stock. Two small edge tears, four tape shadows to corners on verso, several wrinkles and a small batch of pinholes to the left of the image. In all, very good. One of a small number of commercial posters by Berman, issued after the success of his artwork on the cover of the 1947 “Be-Bop” album on Dial Records. As in two other similar works, this collage mixes the faces of familiar jazz musicians with macabre elements and African references. Scarce.

First edition. Tall 4to. Ten broadsides printed in two colors, housed in a fine publisher’s chemise with printed cover label. Very near fine slipcase. One illustration, a woodcut of Warren by Ann Carter Pollard, numbered and signed by the artist, accompanies the poems. One of 75 numbered sets produced, 55 of which were for public sale. Each set is numbered and signed on the colophon sheet by the publisher, Stuart Wright. Each broadside is numbered and SIGNED by the respective poets: James Dickey, Reynolds Price, Richard Eberhart, Richard Wilbur, A.R. Ammons, Fred Chappell, William Meredith, John Hollander, George Garrett, and Rosanna Warren.

Additionally INSCRIBED by Bukowski in two ink colors, “My poems / and / your life, / Let’s / Have / Fun. / Charles / Bukowski / 4–17–63.” Laid into this copy is a letterpress facsimile of a Bukowski letter to the Webbs and a holograph note from Jon Webb to Marvin Malone, “Dear Marvin — Busy binding — can only do 3 an hour, hundreds to do.
